Rivets are made up of a copper nail and a copper rove, or dished washer. The rove is hammered over the nail using the punch, which has a deep hole to accept the nail. A bucking iron is set against the nail head so that it doesn't back out while setting the rove or peening. The bucking iron included here has one end slightly rounded for flush nail heads, and a narrow tapered end
