Mr. Hoagy Carmichael Jr. verified that the interesting reel seat spacer and components are original. The rod's finish and wraps also appear original. The rod comes with two tips, one short by 3 4". The rod actually measures 8'7" fully assembled with the full length tip. This full length tip is missing its silk
