Bill Ballan Model 44 Fly Reel

Bill Ballan Model 44 Fly ReelA little Bill Ballan fly reel, his Leonard Model 44 replica. Favors right hand wind, but it's subtle and could likely be used just fine as LHW as well. 2 1 2" diameter pillar to pillar with 3 4" spool width. The reel is in near mint condition with a few handling marks but no sign of fishing use. Black sideplates with a silver frame, spool, and foot. "Bill Ballan" and "Model 44" engraved in the faceplate. It would be perfect for lines up to a DT3.

The rod appears to have been partially restored at some point

I sold this reel to a repeat overseas customer who decided to polish the front and back (nice job by the way) and in the process of doing so

Comes loaded with line and backing in excellent condition as well

The zipper works flawlessly

They are truly one-of-a-kind
