Century Anglo Irish School Pastel Portrait of a seated gentleman presented in a near contemporary gilt moulded neoclassical oval frame. Inscribed to reverse in a later hand Francis Seymour Conway 1st. Marquess of Hertford. 41 by 49. 5 cms overall in frame. Known primarily as a Mezzotint artist, Dixon trained at the Dublin Society School. Moving to London Ca. 1765. He became a director of the Free Society in 1773,
