JW Young 3 1/2" Fly Reel with red agate line guideFor sale here is a really nice reel made by JW Young and stamped for retailer D. Crockart & Son. It is a Pattern 10B reel 3 1 2". Excellent condition, both cosmetically and mechanically. The red agate is un cracked and one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. No wobble or end play. Crazed erinoid handle that spins freely. Every part of the reel is original. Foot is not filed.

The rod has been fished sparingly and remains in near mint condition
not made in Croydon in my opinion
I don't know if 200 were actually made and am very doubtful he reached that number
For sale here is a 6'6 Orvis Flea impregnated bamboo rod for a 3 or 4 weight line
Medium fast action with fine delicate tips (this feels like a great trico rod)
pouch and papers
slightly battered but should fit most reel seats
Reverse-half wells grip 6" in length with light soiling
"Saracione" and "009" stamped into the reel foot
The tips have slight sets but nothing overly objectionable
