Payne Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #4An early Ed Payne bamboo fly rod, 8', 3 piece, 2 tip built for what feels to me like a #4. Slow ish, full flexing action. 3. 8 ounces. I suspect a manufacture date circa 1900. Refinished condition, though with a few small things that might have been addressed (e. g., there are pencil marks where every wrap should go). Very similar in design to the Leonard Catskill models of the period with a snake guide for a stripper. Early high slant snake guides
