William Olson early "Springer Special" fly reelFor sale here is an early reel made by William Olson. This one was dubbed the "Springer Special" back in the early 2000s. He only made approximately 10 of these and only 2 or 3 in left hand retrieve. The reel is a multiplier and is in like new, with a diameter or 3 1 2" and a spool width of 1 1 4". The reel comes with a fine leather Arne Mason pouch.

The reel's features include:

Black anodized tube with brass collar and top

Lightly used

The rod is built with Hollow-T construction

The rod features medium fast action with plenty of backbone for larger fish

RHW fixed MKI check with very minor end play

though it finally seems that people are catching on and his prices going up

The rod weighs 4 1/8 ounces and I would describe it as a medium-fast action rod with lots of reserve power for throwing big bugs and/or for windy days
