I really like the texture of the flamingo that I came up with and what better way to add a pattern than to add a flamingo wallpaper as the background

My goal was to use visual patterns to represent patterns in the life of a sea turtle

I once read of an ancient myth that the earth was formed on the back of a turtle traveling through the cosmos

I wanted to draw a detailed sugar skull and decided I wanted a sort of sun burst background but I wanted it to have a pattern texture to it

and alien at the same time

It might appear I was trying to release some aggression but it actually was a very relaxing and therapeutic experience

And at the time I had just drawn a few flamingos for my day job and had flamingos on the brain

This is also the first piece that I colorized

With the frame they are 16" wide and 40" tall

I used what my daughter calls scribble scrabble for the texture of the Rhino

Each piece is 12" wide x 36" tall

As I worked on this piece I formed a list of ideas in my head and probably never get them all down on paper
