20th Century Moba figure from Togo

20th Century Moba figure from TogoThis is a large carved wood Moba figure from Togo. It would have been used for ritual purposes and ceremonies but now its simplicity makes it hugely decorative. It is made from solid timber and is mounted on a black stand. Its a lovely pale colour and very tactile. African art always works so well in both modern and traditional interiors. Height 90cm Width 15cm Depth 14cm

Ideal as a hall table or small dining table

The texture of the paint in the sky gives a lot of depth and makes the well and church stand out nicely

It has a tilt top which I believe is mahogany on a solid oak base

Moulted on a black stand this is a great decorative piece

This is a very attractive Green leather and brass side table

The overall condition is very good with minor age related marks but nothing that takes away from the piece

The back leg has an old well done repair and is perfectly solid

Separated by antique brass studs

Beautiful quality and fine detail in the moulding
