Both these board feature hand cut butterfly inlays adding style and beauty to these one of a kind pieces

dark heartwood which looks similar to olive wood

Each vase is handmade from Irish oak

you can see the faint Y shape of the bough where one thick branch splits off into two smaller ones

The dark stain on the legs really bring out the stunning contrast in the olive ash

I chose to flip one of the boards and stitch the live edges together using butterfly inlays made from offcuts from the oak frame

ones with large knots or splits which make an interesting feature

Style it with the season and add whatever flowers you have in the garden or gather on a foraging walk

These pieces are a nod to my furniture work

I love them so much
