Smoky Citrine

Smoky CitrineA beautiful "smoky" Citrine gem from Brazil. The stone has been heated to create the color, as is often the case with Citrine from Brazil. It's not your typical yellow color though, as it has a bit of a dark golden overtone. Very attractive in person, and it would make a superb center stone for a pendant, especially for someone with a November birthday, as Citrine is one of the birthstones for that month. My favorite aspect of the piece is the main group of crystals at the top which have intergrown to form a beautiful "flower"-like cluster and almost resembles an octagonal shape like a stop sign

doubly terminated crystal of deep emerald green colored Vivianite is attached to a small amount of red sandstone matrix

The pyramidal terminations of each of the crystals are quite gemmy
