The Luck Elephant (wood print | red orange on a purple and mint background)I was once told that its considered lucky for an elephant to be depicted with its trunk in the air. I like to depict my subject with unusual texture I wanted to add a texture that would illustrate the treacherous nature of luck. The elephants skin was inspired a a type of sea coral and I added the fire to add a sense of luck that is smoldering under the surface almost unattainable. All wood prints are printed on birch finishing plywood and come ready

I’ve always liked drawing skulls and skeletons but most of the time I’ve drawn them in art classes as studies or practice for other drawings

I really like the  contrast in textures and color that I achieved with this piece

I really like the texture of the flamingo that I came up with and what better way to add a pattern than to add a flamingo wallpaper as the background

One of the best animals to illustrate patterns of life
