Orvis Manchester Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #6An early Orvis Manchester bamboo fly rod, 8', 3 piece, 2 tip, built for a #6 line (HDH). Serial #15028, indicating a 1953 manufacture date. "Orvis Impregnated" and "Manchester" inked on the butt. Medium action. Impregnated cane done in a three up node pattern. The cane is in good shape though there are a fair number of glue lines and some cosmetic discoloration in a few areas. Good used condition overall. The grip has had some hand soiling, the keeper
I received the rod from the original owner
The tip sections are distinguished by one or two dots at the ferrules
Classic cigar grip 5" in length with only minor soiling
Transparent tan wraps with burgundy tipping at ferrules
Lovely varnish and all the usual excellent Winston touches
Ebonite handle spins freely
I bought this tube for a rod I never ended up buying
